ABOUT ONYX

Onyx is a display typeface available only in capitals. Onyx has been designed as a cliché, perhaps even a caricature of the typeface used in SciFi universes in sets or other objects appearing in the image. This kind of typeface is intended to be a form of evolution of our Latin writing system in the future, keeping a known structure so that the viewer can still read parts of it, but bringing in new features and alternative ways of constructing a letter. So legibility is largely sacrificed to make way for shapes that tell a lot of stories, and set a clear tone for the content they carry. Onyx is intended to be used in the form of fake graphics inserted on a fake spaceship pilot screen, or something like that...
