ABOUT HERBUS
Herbus is a small typeface family available in 3 versions: Regular, Bold and Bold Serif.
In addition to its appearance, which leaves no doubt as to its origin, the name Herbus provides another clue as to its authorship, a tribute to Herb Lubalin. The aim is not to make people think that this font is on a par with Lubalin's typographic creations, but rather to show the fascination I have for these letterforms from the 70s and 80s, especially in the USA, of which Lubalin and his collaborators, Carnase, Dispigna, Benguiat etc. were certainly the best ambassadors. Herbus is a kind of synthesis of several emblematic typefaces from this period, and seeks to be used in the same way to create compositions that are as imposing and original as possible. These include typefaces such as Avant Garde Gothic, Serif Gothic and Busorama. The typeface is therefore designed above all to be composed with very fine spacing, both in letter spacing and leading. From the very first use, it is easy to see the benefits of this typeface, which allows you to quickly create compositions of words and letters that become real images which, as well as conveying the meaning of the words that make them up, become a strong and significant visual. Numerous ligatures have been designed to help users with this same idea, the aim being to quickly and playfully compose visually impactful messages that refer immediately or sometimes more subtly to this man and this time.
