ABOUT ALPI

Alpi is a display typeface designed in 2019 initially as a logo for a group of high-altitude sportsmen. With the name already indicating the nature of their activities, the shapes had to emphasise notions of safety, technique and solidity to reflect the qualities of its members. The result is an extremely wide typeface, with compact, solid proportions, where each letter becomes a stone to which the next letter can be attached. Geometry is emphasised in many glyphs, varying from rounded areas to much sharper ones. The typeface is therefore best used for logotype design or for headlines on posters and magazines. Several alternates and ligatures are available in the set to give further possibilities for this kind of use.
